Here are 3 big things you need to know—

 

One — Former President Trump is continuing his push for the White House following a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City.  House Speaker Mike Johnson, Elon Musk, Melania Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke at Sunday's event along with the former president, who promised to fix what he said Kamala Harris had broken.  

 

Two ----  Vice President Harris is on the campaign trail highlighting her religious background.  Speaking at Philadelphia's Church of Christian Compassion on Sunday,  she urged members of the congregation to exercise their right to vote. She went on to share stories of her childhood attending worship services in Oakland, saying those religious teachings still guide her political career today.

 

And number three — The state of Michigan will remain a busy battleground area for the Democratic and Republican presidential campaigns this week.  Today, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz will hold rallies for Vice President Kamala Harris in Traverse City and in Bay City.  Eric Trump will campaign for his father, former President Donald Trump. tonight at 6 p.m..

Here are 3 big things you need to know—

 

One — Chinese hackers have targeted Donald Trump and JD Vance's cell phone data.  Several reports say the FBI notified the campaign of the possible breach last week.  The China-backed cybercriminals, known as Salt Typhoon, reportedly gained access to several telecom companies, including Verizon and AT&T.  It's unknown if they obtained any data.  Other current government officials were also targeted.

 

Two ---- Health officials say the number of E. coli cases linked to McDonald's is up to 75.  The CDC says outbreak has impacted people in 13 states and led to 22 hospitalizations.  One person died in Colorado.  McDonald's removed its quarter pounder hamburger from the menu at around a fifth of its locations in response to the outbreak.

 

And number three — Local clerks throughout Michigan can now pre-process absentee and early in-person ballots.  The clerk in Warren, however, says she will not do that over the chance for results "to get leaked or compromised" and says she "will not risk compromising the integrity of the election."  This is the first presidential election in Michigan where early in-person voting is allowed and clerks have up to eight days to pre-process the ballots.

Here are 3 big things you need to know—

 

One — Around 20-thousand people are expected when Vice President Harris gives what organizers are calling her closing argument to voters tomorrow in Washington, DC.  Harris is scheduled to speak at the Ellipse near the White House.  The site of the speech is the same location where then-President Donald Trump spoke to his supporters on January 6th, 2021.

 

Two ---- Residents in Asheville, North Carolina are trying to regain some sense of normalcy following the devastation of Hurricane Helene as schools reopen today.  Officials say schools will be on an adjusted and abbreviated schedule.  However, there will be no after-school activities today or tomorrow.

 

And number three — The Detroit area's gas prices are down eleven-cents a gallon in the past week.  Triple-A Michigan says the average price in metro Detroit is now three-dollars-20-cents, which is tied with Ann Arbor for the highest average price in the state.  The statewide average is three-dollars-12-cents, a 15-cent drop.
