—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
One — Today marks one-thousand days since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops poured into the country on February 24th, 2022 in a massive escalation of a conflict that started in 2014.
Two ---- Two bills have been passed by lawmakers that would restrict firearms at polling locations while the polls are open. Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says she is grateful to see legislation limiting firearms in voting locations head to the governor's desk. She says the bills bring Michigan in line with Texas, Georgia, Vermont, and other states with similar restrictions.
And number three — Pennsylvania's race for the U.S. Senate may be coming to an end. Incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey and Republican David McCormick have been locked in a tight race, with McCormick holding a thin edge. Pennsylvania's state Supreme Court ruled today that counties must stop counting mail-in ballots that don't have a correct handwritten date on the return envelope.

One — President-elect Trump is expected to be in South Texas today for the sixth launch of the SpaceX Starship prototype after yesterday's planned blast off was delayed. SpaceX founder Elon Musk supported Trump's campaign for president and will take on a special role in the new administration to promote efficiency in the operation of the federal government.
Two ---- A new Detroit News investigation shows that Allies of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer used millions of dollars from secret donors and a web of nonprofit organizations to promote her policy agenda and celebrate Democrats who joined in championing it. One State Rep. quoted says the state government in Michigan has less transparency than your local library board.
And number three — Thirty-nine of 43 monkeys have now been recaptured after escaping from a South Carolina research facility earlier this month. The CEO of Alpha Genesis said Monday evening that the recaptured animals walked back into the facility and into humane traps.

One — Multiple sources indicate President Biden is allowing Ukraine to strike Russia with U.S.-made long-range missiles. There have also been reports that Ukraine plans to launch strikes in the coming days. This comes after news of North Korean soldiers arriving at the front to fight alongside Russian troops.
Two ---- A 9-1-1 call from a Michigan deer hunter on opening day of firearm deer season Friday helped Michigan State Police arrest a fugitive. The hunter spotted the man near his four-wheeler and called police to report it. The 28-year-old suspect from Battle Creek was already the subject of an active manhunt when the tip came in from Emmett Township and had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
And number three — President-elect Trump is picking FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr to now chair the agency. Trump said that he first nominated Carr to the FCC in 2017, and his great work has led to him now being designated the permanent chairman.

—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
One — House Speaker Mike Johnson is defending President-elect Trump's controversial cabinet nominations. In an interview on CNN's "State of the Union," Johnson said Trump's picks will disrupt the status quo by design. He said the agencies they'll be heading need reform and the American people know that.
Two ---- It's more expensive to fill the gas tank in Michigan compared to last Monday. Triple-A Michigan says the average price is up by nine-cents a gallon to three-dollars-13-cents, but the price is still 21-cents less than last month. Michigan's most expensive gas is in Jackson at three-dollars-19-cents, while Traverse City has the most affordable gas at exactly three-dollars a gallon.
And number three — A deadly E. coli outbreak linked to organic carrots is affecting 18 states. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Sunday one death and 15 hospitalizations have been reported among the 39 confirmed cases nationwide. Several brands of bagged organic baby and whole carrots have been recalled by Grimmway Farms.

One — Ukraine is reportedly getting White House approval to use long-range U.S. missiles inside Russia. Multiple sources indicate President Biden is giving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the okay. This comes after news of North Korean soldiers arriving at the front to fight alongside Russian troops.
Two ---- Nearly two-point-six-million Michiganders are expected to travel at least 50 miles for Thanksgiving next week. Triple-A Michigan says nearly two-point-three-million of them will drive and just over 217-thousand plan to fly. The record for Thanksgiving travel was set in 2023 with two-point-24-million Michigan residents driving to their destination and two-and-a-half-million traveling for the holiday.
And number three — Spirit Airlines says service will go on as normal as the budget carrier files for bankruptcy. Spirit announced this morning that it's reached a deal with bondholders for 300-million-dollars in financing and hopes to exit bankruptcy in early 2025. The company has been struggling with losses and a failed merger attempt.
